I’m having a hard time coming up with names for cocktails we throw together. Well…I think I could come up with names that I shouldn’t, or names that are a little grown up…

Any who, I called this one the Corner Store Special, because that’s what it is. Mid-evening, on my way home from picking up Erik from work, vanilla vodka sitting at home. What to mix it with. Where to get that mixer. Option: corner store. Ingredients: strawberry juice, grapefruit juice, soda water, vanilla vodka and a piece of grapefruit from home. It tasted really quite good – and looks pretty to boot. This drink would be a nice alternate to lemonade on a hot day (or night…ahem…Valentines is creeping up you lovers)…

Make it for two:
Ingredients
- 4oz vanilla vodka
- 1/2 cup strawberry nectar or juice
- 1/2 cup grapefruit juice
- 1/2 cup soda water or sparkling water
- grapefruit slice for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Mix vanilla vodka, juices and ice in shaker. Shake well, pour into desired glasses. Top with soda water and garnish.

I’ve been looking for jars like that. Can you tell me where I can get them? Love your blog BTW! Beautiful photos!
Jean, I am pretty positive they’re from Pottery Barn. My mum and aunt got them for us for our wedding…along with this amazing lemonade jar with a spout (not sure the official name). Really fun to make stuff in…we used it to make a big jug of Erik’s homemade punch at our cookie swap party. It’s funny, I was just talking to Erik about wanting to get straight up mason jars for beer and wine…it looks so cool and you don’t have to worry about replacement glassware
Great!! Just found them on potterybarn.com. It’s exactly what I was looking for! The drinks look so pretty in those jars =). The drink dispenser is cute as well. Thanks.
Awesome! Glad you found them! So summery…yay!
